Drama Teacher
Hazel Beattie
Hazel is a graduate of the RCS in Glasgow with a BA in Dramatic Studies (Hons Acting). As well as being the Arts Development Officer for Falkirk Council Hazel is also a professional actress and voiceover actress. Most notably she appeared in 'The Princess Switch 3' for Netflix and recently filmed for short film 'Mission' with Scottish actor George MacKay. Her voiceover work can regularly be heard on STV and national radio as well as audio dramas and audiobooks.
Hazel loves working with young people and bringing out their confidence and creativity through drama. She is a trained mental health first aider and is also Captivates child Protection Officer.

Musical Director
Emily Paterson
Emily is a freelance Musical Director in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and recently graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a diploma in Musical Direction. When she isn’t working as an MD, she is also a pianist and composer. Emily works with Inter Academy of Performing Arts in their Musical Theatre Department, she teaches singing classes and helps students through their Trinity Exams.
She has worked on many productions in Edinburgh and Glasgow, most recently ‘13’ and ‘Annie’ with Captivate Theatre as part of their 2025 Fringe run. She specialises in working with young adults and is passionate about bringing out their confidence and helping them learn about their own voice. She’s delighted to be part of the team for both Captivate Academy and Saturday Drama!

Drama Teacher
Linzi Devers
Linzi has been doing musical theatre since she was 6! After leaving school with a HNC in Acting, she got her HND in Musical Theatre before going to study a BA (Hons) in Acting for Stage and Screen, which she graduated from with a First Class. Most recently, she got her MA Musical Theatre from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Alongside her studies, she has been in a variety of shows and played many amazing roles: Mary Magdeline in Jesus Christ Superstar, Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, Natalie/Ed in All Shook Up, to name a few. She also made her Fringe directorial debut in 2025, directing Captivate’s ‘13’ the Musical, and was also the children’s director of ‘Annie’.
The biggest constant in her life, however, is teaching. Linzi has taught kids across the country in a variety of styles, ranging from drama to private singing lessons and dance classes. Even with over 10 years of teaching experience, she still loves it more than anything and loves watching her students develop in skill and confidence!

Drama Assistant
Emily Aboud
Emily has been doing Musical Theatre since she was 6 years old, starting at a theatre school in Edinburgh before progressing to Captivate. Emily has been a part of Captivate for a decade and has been in various production throughout the years, playing roles such as Madame Thernardier in Les Miserables and Anne of Cleves in SIX: Teen Edition. Emily has had vocal and dance training since childhood and has performed in various venues across Edinburgh. Emily has been a teacher in Captivate classes since 2024 and was the assistant children’s director of Annie in 2025 Fringe. Emily loves teaching and helping kids fall in love with drama the way that she did all those years ago.

Musical Director
Jack Gardner
Jack Gardner is a musical director, composer, and instrumentalist based in Scotland. Currently studying Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he has worked across a wide range of productions, developing a passion for bringing music to life both on stage and in the rehearsal room. Jack brings musical precision and creative energy to every project, and is dedicated to creating fun, supportive spaces where performers of all ages and abilities can grow in confidence, explore their creativity, and discover the joy of theatre.
Recent credits as Musical Director include School of Rock and The Sound of Music with Forth Children’s Theatre, Jerry’s Girls with Never Ending Theatre, and The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Dance Teacher
Danielle Logan
Dannielle is a trained professional musical theatre performer who graduated from The MGA Academy of Performing Arts in 2017. Dannielle has worked within the industry in various roles since graduating and began choreographing in 2019 and has worked as a choreographer professionally throughout her performing career. Dannielle is one of the founding members of BBD Productions, an Edinburgh grassroots company promoting Scottish talent and voices, performing from the fringe to corporate events and having raised thousands of pounds for various charities through concerts and cabarets. Dannielle absolutely loves teaching and focuses on inspiring and lifting confidence in the new generations of talent, allowing freedom to express themselves and focus on their goals.

Acting Coach
Lucy Pedersen
Lucy is a drama teacher and workshop facilitator from Dundee, based in Edinburgh. She completed her training in Acting and Performance at Queen Margaret University in 2022 and has since gone on to found her own theatre company (Without Compromise Theatre) as well as teach drama to young people and children across Edinburgh and East Lothian.
She has previously worked for East Lothian Arts Services, teaching in Pencaitland, Tranent, Musselburgh and Prestonpans. Alongside this work she has recently worked alongside the Edinburgh based charity Branch Out Together to deliver workshops to young people with autism and other additional support needs.
As well as her teaching, Lucy works as a professional actor and director. Having previously performed with Captivate and other Edinburgh companies during their time at the Edinburgh Fringe
